Description
Fireside is a unique quiet and wholesome game about the breaks on a journey. The game is about "talking and trading" instead of "hacking and slaying". You play as a merchant who wants to rebuild a home in the wilderness they inherited. Beside the overgrown house, a spirit is trapped in a shrine because it was up to mischief in the past. The spirit offers to help you rebuild your home if you can gather good karma for the spirit and free it from the shrine. To do this, the player travels the wilderness and helps residents and travelers by trading and talking. Additionally, the player gathers resources to rebuild their home. The characters range from a pirate queen, stranded at the beach of the game's world, to a shoggoth who desperately wants to start a metal band but can't find anyone who wants to play with him. Generally dialogue and storytelling follows a light-hearted and wholesome tone which fits the hand-drawn artstyle that resembles American cartoons such as "Adventure Time" or "Rick and Morty".
